Ghaleb Hawila is an Arabic calligraphy artist born in 1992 in Borj El Chemali, Tyre, South Lebanon. Coming from a background in graphic design, he was classically tutored in Arabic calligraphy under renowned masters before moving into experimentation and developing his own contemporary visual language.

Rooted in Middle Eastern heritage and spiritual inquiry, Hawila’s practice explores origin, cause, and form through calligraphy as a timeless yet evolving medium. His work Nuqta was exhibited at the Sharjah Calligraphy Biennial (8th edition, 2018) and later exhibited at the Institut Français in Beirut (2020).

His work has been exhibited internationally across Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Sweden, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, KSA (Al - Ula ),UAE, and Lebanon, with participations in major platforms such as the Urban Art Biennale in Germany, Dubai Opera in collaboration with the Khawla Art and Culture (2021), and ART IN SPACE, Dubai (2023). His street works are present in Beirut and the UK.

His practice has been presented through programs supported by the Museum of the Future and Dubai Culture (2025). Alongside institutional exhibitions, Hawila has collaborated with major global and cultural platforms, including Abu Dhabi Art Fair and Formula 1 (2025), positioning his work at the intersection of tradition, contemporary art, and public space.
